I gotta tell ya, I was shocked when I saw this. Worse, I had the hardest time figuring out what picture this was. A little background here…
Not long ago, I decided I was tired of being way too fat and sluggish. I started on a campaign to lose weight using the age-old formula – diet and exercise. Exercise. Ugh. I started walking. When I was young, I walked everywhere, mainly because we couldn’t afford a car and friends with wheels, God bless em, weren’t always around.
Here in Southside Virginia, walking our narrow roads often means taking your life into your hands, especially when loaded logging trucks roll by. So, I started walking the perimeter of our property. I measured my path with one of those rolling wheels. Turns out on lap is right around 5/16’s of a mile. Odd as that may sound, it turns out to be a wonderful number. I multiply the number of laps by 5. These days I’m walking just 10 laps per day or 50/16. Now 48/16 is 3 miles and the remaining 2/16 or 1/8 of a mile is 0.125 so my daily walk is 3.125 miles.
Lately I’ve been taking along our digital camera because I’m seeing some interesting wildlife now and then – deer, of course, I might have seen some sort of wild cat – bobcat or mountain lion (Virginia authorities insist these do not exist here but…) and a turtle. I’ve also captured some interesting flora and such. The camera isn’t much. It’s a cheap FujiFilm unit held together by duct tape and a rubber band. Okay, so I dropped it a couple of times, alright? Fast forward to yesterday. Browsing through the camera, I noticed this one shot with an odd circle. What the heck?
It is just above and to the right of that sliver of light. See it?

Not sure how this will look to you but it looks like a person, white, blond looking to the left and a bit down. Note – nobody or nothing is where the “angel” is looking. The odd thing is the angel appears to be encircled within the bigger picture as if it was added.
At first, as I copied the picture to a flash drive to get a closer look, I couldn’t find it again. It seemed to have disappeared! Well, I finally tracked it down as it dawned on me to check the number of the photo. Then I copied a portion of the pic to get a better look at the portion of interest. And here it is:

From a distance, it still looks like something resembling a human form. However I got right up close and personal and…
I’m pretty sure it is sunlight reflecting off leaves and maybe a few other woodsy items.
An angel? Probably not. But it was fun.
God bless,
Andy
