I am posting this mostly for my own information. At this point I am working on a new project. It is in the beginning stages so I have no idea when I will get to the point where I can reveal any details but I absolutely want to involve some beta readers. If you don’t know, a “beta reader” is someone who gets a first look at an author’s work in exchange for their opinions and ideas on how to improve on it. In essence, beta’s help write books! I’ve never been an official beta reader myself, though I have been asked for my input on the efforts of other writers. I think I might try it so I can gain some perspective of what it’s like. In any case, the clip below offers advice to writers on when to “release the betas!”.
For some reason WP won’t embed a “clip” properly so follow this link.

It’s from Bethany Atazadeh, who is a writer and self-publisher. I found her when I was looking for an answer to a small detail on publishing on Amazon. She nailed it. I also like her down-to-earth manner. She’s got a ton of videos covering a bunch of topics. Too bad she writes in a genre I have no interest in (romance) as I’d like to read her stuff.
