Okay, Okay, some of you are champing at the bit. You want to start playing better chess NOW! I get that. Fact is, when I started playing chess again, I fumbled around for several weeks before stumbling upon this guy – Igor Smirnov. Who is he anyway? He’s a GM (Grandmaster) who has a decent channel on YouTube. Sure he’s good at chess but more than that – he is an excellent teacher who knows how to put the good stuff on the lower shelf.
Long story short, just before I found Mr. Smirnov, I was floundering. Look, I think I’m a pretty decent chess player but I knew, I KNEW there was a HUGE HOLE in my understanding of the game.
