You probably know the old joke…
“How long will it take you to install that new <just name it!>?”
“Well, let’s see, it’s about half hour job so I’d say maybe 4-6 hours.”
Okay, so it is not just the “publishing” part I’m blaming the delay on. Compared to actually writing the books, that was the easy part, now I have a ton of little things here and there to hopefully sell a few copies. The first wrench in the works was adding keywords to the metadata (behind the scenes information so folks looking for it can actually find it.), along with selecting categories and formatting it so people can read it. Then I have to think about my author pages. Oops! Before that, WHAT author pages? Well I’m distributing this on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and going wide via a distributor called “Draft2Digital”. I’ll need to set up an author’s page on each one, not to mention BookBub (a great free service to find books at bargain prices and sometimes for free.), and Goodreads. The latter I’m sure most of you have heard of. Of course I also need to set up a page for each book on this site and also let folks on facebook know. But first… I should set up my authors page on fb and one on Instagram. It never freakin’ ends!
Oh! Did I forget to mention I decided to set a launch date for mid April? Why? Like I said the list of those “little things” I need to do gets longer and longer every day. I need the time to get more ducks in the row before the big launch. For those of you who are interested, I’ll post a preorder link shortly. If you sign up for Bookbub, please follow me. Oi!
